Savita Kapoor MA Dip Ed, Cert Ed, Cert Teacher Education, Cert ESOL

Savita Kapoor works in the capacity of an
education consultant. She has extensive
professional experience which spreads across all
education phases
- schools, FE, adult education, and higher
education. Furthermore, her experience in
inspection, advisory and training work, and
research make a significant contribution to her
professional expertise.
Until recently Savita worked at Edexcel
Foundation in the capacity of a senior manager
with responsibility for Curriculum Innovation.
The main focus of her work has been at the
leading edge of government initiatives in the
14-19 sector aimed at developing a coherent
national qualifications framework. She has
developed highly specialised skills in
qualification frameworks, assessment and
standards, and has had the benefit
of working across all three strands (general,
vocationally-related, and occupational) of the
UK National Qualifications Framework.
More specifically she has made a significant
contribution to the implementation of new
qualifications including the evolving models of
GNVQs, Basic and Key Skills, and the creation of
the BTEC qualifications framework. Currently she
is engaged in the 14-19 reforms including the
development of specialised Diplomas14-19
reforms.
Savita offers specialised subject expertise in
FE teacher education, Key Skills, Basic Skills,
and ESOL.
Savita has substantial experience in strategy
work and managing high profile research and
development projects with implications for
policy and practice, resulting in the production
of reports and publications. Internationally she
has worked on vocational education and training
projects for the British Council in Mexico and
India, and more recently for Edexcel in Mexico,
Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Holland and Mauritius
amongst others.
Savita’s portfolio of recent consultancy work
has included projects with the DfES, QCA,
Warwick Centre for Education and Industry,
Edexcel International, CfBT, Alpha Plus, and the
Learning and Skills Network, amongst others.
