Sylvia King

Sylvia is an experienced teacher and has taught in both secondary schools and a sixth form college.  Since September 2005 she has worked as a freelance consultant.

During this time she has worked with Local Authorities, Awarding Bodies and Government Agencies in promoting and implementing the 14-19 agenda.  Having worked with QCA in the development of Applied A levels and then with LSDA to promote their introduction Sylvia was appointed as a Principal Examiner for Applied A level and is now involved with teacher support. She is also an experienced BTEC External Verifier.

At Local Authority level Sylvia has worked as an advisor and 14 -19 co-coordinator in Surrey and Brighton & Hove. Most recently this work has involved the preparation for the delivery of specialized Diplomas for 2008. Sylvia is also the regional diploma coordinator for the South East, working with the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust.

Sylvia has written a number of articles for specialist Business publications and was co-author of an A level textbook. She has also been involved with the development of electronic resources to support vocational teaching.
